Inspired by Link from Zelda, these ocarinas are produced by Zebra and launched this month. Zebra is a new company who has just started with their Ocarinas and are planning to also release more musical instruments and accessories in the future. Here is our look at their first products on release.
The standard Ocarina
These are available in other brands as well and have been one of our top musical sellers this year. They look great and have a huge novel appeal.
The wider more larger Ocarina
This submarine looking model is a unique model that brings a deeper pitch to the octaves and gives more finger room to play.
Are Zebra Ocarina’s hard to play?
Similar to a flute, once you have the correct finger positions; the basic noise is easy to create, notes are made by simply blowing and lifting certain fingers to reach the desired tone.
The included instructions have a few basic songs and with a bit of practice you can play fairly easily.
How do you learn Ocarina songs?
Just like the piano or other instrument you have a note sheet, to make it easy, you also have the corresponding finger position for each note (called a fingering chart). Once you get the hang of the notes/finger positions you will quickly be able to play songs straight from the chart.

If you are looking to learn more deeper, there is a great database of downloadable song sheets for a variety of ocarina tunes. Tabs Ocarina and 12 Hole are a few good sites with a range of genres of tracks.
Are they just from Link in The legend of Zelda?
The ocarina was around long before computer games, in-fact there are some from the 1900’s in museums. The Legend of Zelda brought a lot of popularity to this instrument and created a great foundation of initial demand. For more about the ocarinas history check out the Wikipedia page .
The cool ocarina stand
If you are looking to keep a Zebra on display in your home, these bargain “hands” are designed to precisely hold your ocarina on display.
For yourself or a Zelda lover, this is a unique looking instrument that is not hard to master. If you are looking for a slightly different tune again, last time we looked at the Alto C. We have a wide range of ocarina’s not only from Zebra and they don’t cost as much as you might think. View our range of ocarinas.
