Why is the Xgimi H2 our best projector?
HDR
Very few of our projectors offer HDR, this gives you a wider color and brightness range. Resolution is one determinant of quality but HDR also brings more realism to the image. However, this is intended for future content as you do need HDR encoded videos to enjoy the extra detail and most content now is just regular definition.
1350 Lumens
Enough for vibrant screens in the daylight of up to 100 inches and 300 in the darkness. 1200-1500 is ideal for a dark room cinema experience and combined with high contrast ratio it projects vibrant and clear video.
Solid Harmon Kardon Speakers
With two 6W stereo speakers, and a bass speaker, the XGIMI H2 has a powerful audio output, more than most other projectors. It is about the same output as a good quality Bluetooth speaker. This means you can use it as a standalone device for viewing content. Its never going to replace a full cinema 5.1 channel setup but does sufficiently cover the room in moderately bassy stereo sound.
If you are building a professional cinema, the speakers in the H2 could still be utilized as used as a rear speaker or if mounted on the ceiling a Dolby Atmos ceiling speaker.
XGIMI H2 Full HD
A Fully HD projector provides crisp video even at larger screen sizes. Most of our other projectors are 720P or less. 4K is common now in LCD TV’s, but currently, any 4K projector is overpriced for what you actually get. For this reason the H2 ticks two boxes, it’s affordable and outstanding in video quality. There are more expensive models out there, but this balances to give the best value. Multiple input options
XGIMI have included on the H2 a full set of inputs, including USB3.0 for fast local access of files and a Gigabit LAN connection for accessing movies and other files network.
The only drawback
The system has a Chinese system, for now, it is expected they will change to an English version like they did with the H1. At its price point, it still offers at a great value even with the Chinese OS. The easy way to bypass that is to use an HDMI TV box or chrome key to convert it. That adds about $30-$50 to the cost but gives you a fully English system.
UPDATE: Xigimi H2 Global English Version Launched
Xigmi also offers a global English version, but charge nearly $200 more for it. This system offers English Android OS so you can install Netflix, youtube and other regular android Applications. If you are looking for an all in one system then the extra $200 gives you a solid setup. If you don’t mind a separate device or are already planning to use it with a PC or entertainment system, the Chinese version is the best way to save.
XGIMI H2 is an exceptional projector for its price and is ideal if you want to convert your spare room or lounge into a high-quality home cinema.
