I don’t know about you, but I’ve never seen a virtual laser keyboard till a few days ago. I didn’t even know they exist. Even though the first one was invented by IBM engineers in 1992.
What Is It?
A virtual laser projection keyboard is a device that uses a laser to project a virtual keyboard onto a surface. The surface should be flat and opaque. The virtual laser keyboard detects hand and finger motions and it tracks them using advanced optics.
How Can You Pair It With A Device?
The virtual laser projection keyboard uses Bluetooth to connect with a computer, a smartphone, or a tablet. It’s very simple to pair it with a smartphone, tablet, or laptop via Bluetooth. You just turn the laser projection keyboard on, wait till the indicator is blue and then turn Bluetooth on, on your phone or tablet and connect to “laser Projection Keyboard”. Once it is connected you can start typing.
To connect it to a desktop PC though you need to use the USB cable that comes with the laser projection keyboard.
Typing With The Virtual Keyboard.
To start typing open the page on your device and tap your fingers on the projected red laser keys. The letters will pop up on your device’s screen. It definitely works, quite well I would say, but typing, even though is very easy and it looks so cool, sometimes it’s a bit sensitive. You need to learn how to use it and look what you’re typing at the screen, at least at the beginning, cause sometimes you’ll end up typing the wrong letters or miss some letters.
The virtual laser projection keyboard also works as a mouse. To change from keyboard mode to mouse mode you just need to press the up key.
Unfortunately, iOS devices do not support the mouse mode.
Why Use A Virtual Keyboard And Who Could Use It?
The positive of using a virtual laser projection keyboard is that you can reduce stress on your hands, and avoid cramps. Also, type faster once you’ve learnt how to use it properly.
If you love gadgets and cool unique products, or if you text and type a lot, especially on your phone, then the virtual laser projection keyboard could be very useful for you.
The product is very small and light so you can easily carry it with you everywhere. The virtual keyboard though is big enough; almost like having an actual keyboard.
Find out more about it and check the user’s manual on its product page.
