Cheerson now have the world’s smallest video equipped quad. The recent Floureon FX-20 has taken the crown from the the CX-10 as the smallest quad, so instead of going smaller, Cheerson have changed their game and released the smallest video integrated quad and seems to be allmost the same price as the non camera version.

The CX10 and CX10A are visually similar, just the CX-10A has headless mode. This new model has similar motor sections but the center body that houses the Micro SD card and camera has a new design.

The following sections give deeper information on this soon to be released quad.

The Camera

If you are excited about the camera don’t hold your breath, the rated .3MP camera means it is not really designed to capture anything worth keeping instead it is just merely a low end camera that is light and fits inside the tiny frame.  But even if it is not a good camera it still is the smallest video ready micro. Definitely high on the novelty list.  Until we have tried it we are just speculating but I don’t think my expectations will be too far off.

The CX-10C controller

Cheerson CX-10 Video Controller

It is essentially the same except for the trim buttons function as the camera and video buttons, if you look closely at the controller above you will notice there are 2 black icons to show his change, other than that there is nothing updated or changed in their version of controller, it is still small and runs of 2 AA batteries, why change something that was well received last time, they could go bigger and more comfortable but Cheerson have always been about price advantage so am not surprised to see the same tiny but cheap controller.

Any other differences?

Cheerson new package

  • No more headless: The CX-10a added a headless mode which seems to have been dropped in the CX-10C.
  • A slightly larger battery of 120mAh. Rated to last 5-7 mins but with video recording that’s really pushing it, I expect it to be 5 mins at most with video.
  • The packaging seems larger and has a sleek black style, still not as cool as the original CX-10 rectangle packaging.

I’m looking forward to the next release from Cheerson (perhaps a CX-10D) in this size and an FPV ready Quad, that would be another world first.
