Smart home cameras often come with great software with loads of connectivity functions and are great for home security and keeping an eye on the kids. If you are instead looking for something more suitable for a long-term security setup, Blitzwolf has these semi-pro cameras that can be mounted on walls and ceilings for a permanent fixture.
SIC1 Mobile and PC access
Using the app is fairly straightforward and we have a video outlining how to set up the camera below.
After app setup is complete you can access the camera from anywhere via the app.
There is also an included app for the PC which can be used to record and monitor multiple BW cameras in one location. Similar to the mobile app, this can be used to connect and monitor wherever you have an internet connection.
The PC app allows you to set motion detection zones (red and blue boxes) and email alerts of movement if anything hits the trigger zones it will accurately alert you.
Streaming video
In our experience testing cameras, the quality of the stream is related more to the quality of the internet connection and server than the camera.In most situations it is recommended to use the cable over the wifi as the cable ensures a steady connection to the internet, WiFi does work great but it is susceptible to interference especially if you are in an area with many wifi devices. For our tests, we used the LAN connection.

Once inside the PC settings you can set these options
Inside the BlitzWolf SIC1
The waterproof case is held together by two screws on either side of the camera and between the two diecast shells is a blue rubber gasket to keep the water out.
Once inside, capturing footage is also possible via the internal memory card slot, so if you are looking to review footage and don’t want to set up a PC to record everything you can insert a memory card and continuously capture video. Once you connect the app or the PC you can then review the footage.
The SD card slot
The card is behind the camera shell so you really only want to install it and then view it through the PC or app instead of taking out the card and copying it.
Onvif compatible
If you are already using an onvif security system you will be able to join the BlitzWolf camera to the network. This gives the BW SIC1 the compatibility to integrate into the more advanced onvif system.
The night vision
When the sun falls or the lights turn out night vision kicks in, the 3 bright IR led’s shine and give a clear black and white video feed even under complete darkness. The switch is automatic and will flick between color and night vision depending on the light level.
Coupled with night vision, in sd card, waterproof rating, and Onevif this offers value in a usually premium priced camera segment.
