Take a photo of an item you are looking to buy, and upload it. You will instantly be shown items that match your photo. No typing required!
How does it work?
Snap to buy adopts the ML Kit, this gives App creators like us access to AI and ML superpowers. The ML kit will identify the item in your photo and then search through our product photos to find the item. The results will be shown to you the same way as a regular search.
Huawei’s ML Kit is part of the new Huawei Mobile Services’ HMS Core 4.0 ecosystem. Released at the Huawei Global Analysts Summit 2020.
What photos can I use?
With Snap to buy, any image you save to your phone can be used including photos from:
- Your phone’s camera
- Other websites
- Social media
For example, if you see something you like on Facebook, save the picture to your phone. In the Banggood App, you can upload it, see the results, and then buy the item. It’s all within the Banggood app and designed to be seamless.
How accurate is it?
All categories are searchable, and we have already trained the system to be awesome at detecting items in our top 14 categories. Outside of the top 14 are hit and miss right now but the awesome thing about ML is it gets smarter over time, so the more the system is used the more accurate it gets.
