We live in a USB 3.0 world, soon to be a Type C universal kingdom, this tech has brought us huge leaps in data transmitting and now MantisTek are focusing on not only digitally fast devices but also physically fast.

What is the Mbox2.5?

As simple as 1,2,3

  1. Slide open the case
  2. Insert the HDD
  3. Close the case

Congratulations you have just installed a hard drive into the Mantis Tek Mbox screw-free case.

The pesky screw case!

Easy MantisTek Mbox2.5, slow screw case
This screw case consists of 4 tiny outer case screws and 4 mounting screws for the drive.

They are annoying, slow, and not practical if you have multiple HDD’s it only multiplies the inconvenience. Given the price point between the two styles are almost identical I expect the screwed case enclosures will slowly disappear.

 The features,

It is basic reliable and nothing can really go wrong, there is a physical lock on the outside of the case but the smart design automatically locks the drive in place when connected to a computer. Even if you forget to lock it you don’t need to worry about accidentally sliding the case open.

USB 3.0 Speedfast mantis

The Mantistek can handle USB3.0 and when connected to a computer the status led will become blue indicating the Mantis Tek is ready for full speed action.

Are all drives compatible with the Mantistek?

The ManitsTek Case Container
The MantisTek can hold 2.5” HDD’s and SSD’s.

The typical SATA connection is available for this case and it is compatible with both SSD and traditional HDD’s, this connection was designed to be universal and should work with all SATA drives.

What is SATA3?

The easy way to spot this is just look at the connection on the drive, most HDD’s in the last 5 years use this connection.

The standard SATA connection.

Combine SATA with USB 3.0 for a solid write and read speed, for the fastest speed possible partner the case with an SSD drive.

Make your notebook fast!

If you are looking for computing performance, I recommend buying an SSD and installing it in your notebook computer and use the old HDD in the MantisTek, then you have an amazingly fast PC and also recycle the old drive into an external drive.

Give your drive a new fast home with the MantisTek Mbox2.5.
