The Music festival season is upon us, and if you’re up for going to a festival at all, then somewhere at some point over the next few months there will be one to suit you: whether you want to get stuck in the Mud at Glastonbury, hit the beach at Benicàssim or raise a shoe to your favorite band at Golden Plains in Oz.

Glastonbury

Depending on your personality, there are different approaches to surviving at a festival. Whether you’re planning on taking the kitchen sink or packing light, if you’re heading off for a few days for some music and camping, then there are a few things that you really will need or that will at least help you enjoy the festival.

new ideas for your festival packing list

We’ve got a massive range of camping equipment, outdoor accessories and portable gadgets suitable for a long festival weekend so if you need a new tent or sleeping bag check out our range. But I wanted to give you a few additions to your packing list that might be forgotten but could really come in handy while you’re away.

A Power Bank

You may not even be intending to use your phone much whilst you are getting away from it all and partying hard, however, the chances are it will probably come in handy, just as it does at any other time, whether for finding your friends, pictures…or phoning your mum. So a good power bank can be a real lifesaver if you need a charge towards the end of the festival, whether for your phone, speakers or torch.

A Proper Waterproof Bag

You might think the rain is all part of the fun of a festival, but if there’s a chance of a downpour you at least what to keep your dry stuff dry if some things are starting to get a bit damp.

A Lamp (not a torch)

Camping festival LED Lamp from banggood

So many people will think of taking a torch when they go to a festival, as you might for any camping trip, but really a small, portable LED lamp is likely to be far more useful. Outside there’s probably enough light to see your way around, but using a torch inside the tent can be pretty impractical. It might not stand up, the light might be too focussed, etc…. and you might find yourself waving it around using your teeth as you dig to the bottom of your bag in the dark.

Mum’s Choice: A First Aid Kit

Festival Survival Guide Banggood First aid kit

Might sound a bit boring, and there’s bound to be some first aid on site but it might save you a fair bit of trouble that a minor injury isn’t really worth. It’s not heavy and you can just take one first-aid kit between a group of you.

A Hip Flask
