Hcalory TB2-P Diesel Heater

I bought Hcalory TB2 last year and ended up gifting it to my dad because he loved it so much. Recently, Hcalory released the TB2S+ diesel heaters, which are upgraded versions of the TB2 model. After knowing it, I ordered TB2S+ immediately to prepare for my winter camping.

Do you want to know what the new version upgrades are? Here, I will take you on a deep dive into them.

Quick Overview

The Hcalory TB2S+ takes everything I liked about the original TB2 and refines it with better performance, smarter features, and an emphasis on safety and convenience. The most notable upgrades are the automatic altitude adaptation, the enhanced heating performance from a redesigned body, the new all-in-one toolbox design, and a critical CO safety system.

Hcalory TB2S+ vs TB2: What’s Upgraded?

TB2S+ is an upgrade from TB2; thus, TB2S+ retains some excellent functions of the Hcalory TB2 diesel heater. Both include an AC to DC adapter, so you can easily plug the unit into a standard household or RV outlet to get the required 12V power. They both also support Bluetooth connection, allowing you to use the professional Hcalory app for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience than the control panel. The app makes it easy to monitor parameters, adjust heat levels, set timers, and get help. Additionally, both heaters use a 90mm air duct. This large diameter reduces wind resistance, which in turn significantly lowers the chance of overheating and related malfunctions.

So what are they different? Now, let’s take a look at it!

Performance

Heating Effect/Evenness

According to Hcalory, the TB2S+’s aluminum part is heavier (about 2.0kg) and features a redesigned combustion chamber and an optimized combustion algorithm. This combination of improvements is claimed to increase overall combustion efficiency by 38%. This means that for the same heating output, you can save up to 38% on fuel consumption. The heat also feels more powerful and more evenly distributed due to these internal design changes.

Smart Altitude Adaptation

Both heaters are rated for extreme cold down to −40°C, which is fantastic. The key difference here is the TB2S+’s new automatic altitude sensor. The original TB2 had a “Plateau Mode” you had to manually activate, but the TB2S+ just handles it for you. This means that whether I’m at sea level or high in the mountains, the heater automatically adjusts its combustion to ensure it starts efficiently and runs perfectly. It is the perfect change for those travels to different elevations.

Control and Design Upgrades

Beyond the core performance, the TB2S+ introduces several key upgrades that significantly improve its usability and convenience.

Control Panel

The new model comes with an upgraded 2025 P2.2 control panel, offering a more modern interface and powerful new features. With it, you can:

  • Adapt Altitude: Rely on the built-in sensor to automatically adjust combustion parameters, making the heater fully functional and efficient at high altitudes where oxygen is scarce.
  • Set Multiple Timers: Schedule multiple on/off timers for specific time periods, which is great for pre-heating your space before you wake up or get back from a hike.
  • Use Auto Start/Stop: Let the heater automatically turn on and off to maintain a stable indoor temperature, which also helps to save fuel.
  • Adjust Heat Precisely: Use different heat levels for more precise and fine-tuned temperature control, giving you a wider range of comfort options.

Wireless Remote Control

The TB2’s remote control only has some basic functions, but the new one for the TB2S+ (and TB-E) is more than just a remote. It’s a Wireless Control center with a few major upgrades:

Built-in CO Sensor

The remote now includes a CO sensor. If carbon monoxide levels exceed a set threshold, it will sound a pre-warning alarm and automatically shut the heater off for ultimate safety.

Integrated Temperature Sensor and Screen

With a built-in temperature sensor and a display screen, the remote can be brought inside your tent or cabin to get an accurate reading of the indoor temperature. This allows the heater’s smart temperature and auto start/stop modes to function correctly, providing a more effective and precise heating experience.

Extended Control Cable

For those of us using the heater in a tent or an RV, a major win is the 1.5-meter switch extension cable that is now included. This allows the control panel to be extended into your indoor space for easy operation, ensuring that the temperature mode and auto start/stop functions accurately sense the indoor temperature. This makes for more effective and precise temperature control, eliminating the need to frequently go outside to operate the device.

Redesigned Fuel Cap

A small but critical improvement is the redesigned fuel tank cap, which offers enhanced anti-leakage performance. With the new cap, you can no longer worry about leaks when you’re transporting the unit.

Which Hcalory Diesel Heater is Better?

For me, the Hcalory TB2S+ is the clear winner, while the original TB2 is a fantastic and reliable heater (my dad loves his!). The upgrades in the model are well worth it. Besides, there is a model TB2S, which is the same as TB2S+, except for the remote control. The difference between the controllers is that the controller of TB2S does not support the CO Alarm Sensor.

The Hcalory TB2S+ truly is a fantastic upgrade. It stands out with its integrated carbon monoxide notification system and smart altitude adaptation, providing enhanced safety and convenience. This heater is perfect for long-haul truckers, serious winter campers, RV enthusiasts, or anyone living off-grid. If you’re looking for a portable, powerful, and smart heating solution that you can rely on in any environment, the TB2S+ is a top contender. Get your best diesel heater Hcalory TB2S+ now!
