Last month, DJI Avata 360 was introduced. With a 360° FPV drone, it is a new way to fly. DJI Avata 2 is an excellent FPV drone. Both of them offer commendable capabilities for immersive FPV flight, but their image acquisition methods are fundamentally different.
To help you choose the most suitable option for your needs, I will compare the differences between the DJI Avata 360 vs Avata 2 specifications.
Quick Verdict: If you want the creative freedom of 360° filming and the safety of full obstacle sensing, the Avata 360 is the ultimate choice. While the Avata 2 is a fantastic speed FPV drone.
DJI Avata 360 contre Avata 2
Conception : Poids et dimensions
The way a drone is built changes how it feels in the air.
Forme
Avata 2: It is actually the taller of the two, with a more compact, square-ish footprint. Ce classic “cinewhoop” shape is built for agility and tight maneuvers.
Avata 360: It has a slimmer height but a significantly wider and longer frame. This design is necessary to spread out the dual-lens system and provide a stable platform for 360° capture.
Protections d'hélice
Both drones use tough guards to protect the blades. The Avata 2 is built for bumping into walls and keeps going. The Avata 360 is equally tough but also carries a suite of sensors—like LiDAR—to stop you from hitting the wall in the first place.

Caméra et vidéo
This is where the real magic happens. The difference between these two cameras is huge.
Architecture des capteurs
Avata 2 uses a single 1/1.3-inch sensor. It’s great for high-quality, traditional video. The Avata 360 uses two 1/1.1-inch sensors. Because it has two lenses, it can see in 360 degrees.
Résolution et champ de vision (FOV)
Avata 360: In panoramic mode, you get massive 8K/60fps video. Because it sees everything, you don’t have to worry about where the camera is pointing.
Avata 2: You get 4K/60fps or 100fps pour smooth slow motion. Il a un 155° wide-angle lens, which is great, but you only see what’s in front of you.
Flux de travail de sortie
Avata 2 is built for speed: pull the card and share the 4K footage immediately. Avata 360 is built for flexibility: you have to “reframe” the video later, but that means you can find the perfect shot even after you’ve finished flying.

Performance : Vitesse et agilité
Avata 2 is for the thrill-seekers. It has a full Manual Mode and can hit 27m/s. If you want to do flips and power loops, this is your drone.
Avata 360 does not have a manual mode. It is slower and more focused on the shot. However, it features ActiveTrack 360°, which follows you perfectly from any angle without you having to touch the sticks.
Connectivité : portée de transmission et contrôleur
Both drones use DJI’s latest transmission tech to keep your video feed clear. They both work with the RC Motion 3, making them very easy to fly for beginners. The Avata 360 feels especially cool with the newest goggles because you can look around the 360-degree scene just by moving your head.

Vol intelligent
The Avata 360 has Omnidirectional Obstacle Avoidance. Using LiDAR and infrared, it can “see” in every direction to prevent crashes.
The Avata 2 does not have obstacle avoidance. It only has sensors on the bottom and back to help with landing and positioning.

DJI Avata 360 vs Avata 2 : lequel est le meilleur pour vous ?
Rather than the DJI Avata 2, I prefer the Avata 360. Because the Avata 360 gives you creative insurance. Thus, you can focus on the flight, and the drone handles the safety and the scenery.
The Avata 360 is the ultimate tool if you want to create something unique. Being able to capture everything in 8K and knowing the drone won’t crash because of its 360-degree sensors is a huge relief.
If you love the fast speed FPV flight, want to fly at 27m/s, and need your videos ready to post in seconds, the Avata 2 is your best bet.
