Flydigi APEX 5 and Vader 4 game controllers are so popular. As someone who cares a little too much about how much dead zone an analogue stick has and how much force is required to press it, I needed to get my hands on them to find out which one, Flydigi APEX 5 vs Vader 4 Pro, is the best. These two controllers showcase everything Flydigi has to offer, but it’s obvious after a few weeks of intense use that they could not be more different. The APEX 5 Flydigi is, without a doubt, the luxury model, full of technology, and the Vader 4 Pro is like a racing machine downsized for pure performance.
Now, let’s find out more details about them.

Flydigi APEX 5 vs Vader 4 Pro: Diseño y manejo
The APEX 5 is the one I want to show off on my shelf; the Vader 4 Pro is the one that fits my hands. Flydigi APEX 5 is white and has a light. It looks so cool. While the Vader 4 Pro is black, which is a very normal colour.
The first time you pick up the Flydigi APEX 5 Elite Controller, it’s like sitting in a luxury sports car. The quality of the material has great density, and it looks premium; the lighting is next level. It has a translucent faceplate, allowing the supercar-inspired light strip to peek through, which is also synced with your vibrations in-game to further immerse you in the world.
On the flip side, the Vader 4 Pro is a little lighter, and the shape, for me, is very natural on my hands. Even use it for 3 hours, I don’t want to feel any fatigue.

Conectividad y flexibilidad de la plataforma
The APEX 5 is powered by NearLink, a big deal if you hate input lag. It was so stable, in my experience, that it felt like a wired connection, and with a 1000Hz polling rate, everything was buttery smooth.
The Vader 4 Pro also achieves the 1000Hz hype with its standard 2. 4GHz dongle, although the APEX 5 does seem just a smidgen more stable when the room is full of other wireless signals. But if you are playing at a level where every little millisecond counts, you will love the zero drift and fast response these both have.

Sticks Test
The APEX 5 uses a force-adjustable alloy stick mechanism where you can set the tension anywhere between 30gf and 100gf. When I jumped into Call of Duty, I set the tension to a light 30gf to help my muscle memory with fast flick shots and tracking.
Switching to the Vader 4 Pro, the adjustment is made by a physical knob on the face, a quite satisfying mechanism to use. It gives you a tactile click as you turn it, allowing for precise tuning on the fly.
Triggers Test
Triggers on the Flydigi APEX 5 elite game controller are a real showstopper for immersion. They have a dynamic feel that simulates real-world resistance. Playing a driving game like Project Cars, I could really feel the pressure on the brake pedal and the engine rumbling in my fingertips.
The Vader 4 Pro takes a different route and lets you switch the triggers from a long pull to a short, clicky mouse-style tap by physically switching a switch physically on the back of the controller instead of digitally through the software. You’re not so much feeling the car as trying to get that shot off before the other guy does.
Personalización y pantalla
The APEX 5 includes 6 elite buttons, two extra shoulder buttons, six back buttons and four of them are back buttons, which is quite different from the usual controller layouts. These paddles are also detachable, which is good because it allows me to customize the back to match the way I hold the controller. They didn’t just add two more face buttons to the Vader 4 Pro (now C and Z, directly to the right of the standard ABXY buttons) but also: That could have gone a long way. For fighting games or MMOs where you want a couple extra commands under your thumb without having to dig into the back paddles, this is a dream.
One of the best features of the Flydigi APEX 5 Elite Controller is the interactive smart screen. It’s a 150FPS display, and you can adjust tension settings, lighting, and button mapping all without opening a PC. You can even use custom GIFs to personalize your gear. The Vader 4 Pro doesn’t have the screen, so all deep modifications have to be made on your computer through the Flydigi Space Station software.

Flydigi APEX 5 vs Vader 4 Pro: ¿Qué controlador deberías elegir?
If you love the newest tech, play multiple-game genres like racing and adventure games, and prefer to have the most immersive experience available, then the APEX 5 is absolutely the one to go with. It’s a luxury piece of equipment that makes every game feel more alive. That said, if you are a fast-twitch competitive fps player looking for the quickest response times with physical trigger stops and a lightweight build for speed, the Vader 4 Pro may be the superior option.
