BlitzWolf has launched their noise-canceling headphones, the BW-ANC1, these are their first active noise canceling earphones and are one of the most affordable ANC headphones available.
Noise canceling is something pilots must use to reduce plane background noise when talking on the radio and to protect their hearing, for those of us who are not pilots, it allows you to enjoy your music in noisy environments without needing to turn up the volume to a loud level. When not listening to music, it can also be used simmilar to earmuffs to make a noisy environment quiet. Read more about ANC.

Operation
If you’ve had Bluetooth earphones before, they’re all similar in operation and setup. You have the volume, track and playback controls. These are on the front of the remote and are embossed on the rubber for an easy eye-free operation.
The ANC1 has a unique clip so you can put them straight on your shirt, like a lapel microphone.

How good is BlitzWolf ANC?

When ANC is on, you immediately notice. Even in a relatively quiet environment, the background noise disappears. When turning it on and off you realize there is a lot of background noise we have learned to just block in our daily lives. Fan noise, light traffic, computer fan hum, all these disappear when activated. ANC does not block everything tho, most loud noises are not blocked, only reduced. Voices can be heard, although fainter and if outside on a windy day some wind on your ears can be heard.
Aside from the silence you also get health benefits, it allows you to listen to your music without cranking up the volume on the bus, plane or subway.
Noise canceling in the office is a surreal silence, that when turned off you realize how noisy the office really is. Everything on my desk was muted except mouse clicks and nearby talking.
What I didn’t like
After trying them for a few days, the only downside is they turn off automatically if not paired to a Bluetooth device, so on a flight, or noisy commute, you would need to turn on the Bluetooth and connect, just to have ANC activated for a trip. Something many flights would not allow. Not a big deal for most situations, but during testing, it was something that did cause some annoyance.
BlitzWolf, known for their dual drivers and graphene earphones, have already shown they can make top sounding audio, they now have affordable noise-canceling headphones. ANC traditionally has been an expensive tech, and now in 2018, you can experience ANC for a fraction of the price they were a few years ago.
